Unpardonable Retreat
Kiss and resist the anarchy of Time.
Even after years ,
wrinkled skin and blank gazes will Challenge God’s merciless eyes –
Pompei was engulfed by
The blasted volcano one night ,
When midnight darkness
overpowered instinctive urges of the Pampered whores –
Blue neon light adored
The resplendent chamber room of the Dictator’s pregnant mistress ,
Who lost identity,
Getting drowned into the tide of nothingness.
Grey ashes flew high in the air –
Three thousand years of Obscurity collapses with one intoxicated touch of insane History !
Each and every hidden city has its own glorious , ancient
Tales of flaws –
Pompei anchored me
As I drank the Holy water of Tungabhadra,
Kissed by the Dictator’s sun .
The blind panther of our rocky land still searches for the New woman !
New lifeforce of erotic dance !
New absence of God amidst old presence!
So rotten yet so real !
Whatever that’s New is not always true.
Flesh drags flesh in the sequestered
island of forgetfulness –
The shameless sailor ,
measured up the shallow sea
With one grey eye !
Hungry vagabonds and infants Refuse to die
In God’s World .
They have learnt to steal hearts but not true words !
Why furore ?
Why uproar ?
Why so much of anger
For the dead , old past that merges with traces
Of framed stories of fanatical tales?
Do you still love the lovely treachery of words
And the void of those veiled eyes ,
Burnt up in the Hell.
Do you still kiss the other’s lips
When midnight hours baffle Pompei,
That still Pines for Holy water
Within the womb of burnt up TIME ?
I am lost ; yet I strive to be the dauntless bard
uttering Holy Rhymes
Of breath, sweat and the perennial Retreat .
Sometimes , we need to retreat too
And that’s not UNPARDONABLE – – –
