Earth
The earth rolls uncomfortably
Upon its celestial bed,
Forced awake
By catastrophic nightmares,
Dregs itself upright
On broken knees
Amidst tornadoes and cyclones,
Looks on with crystal tears
Upon ravaged and ruined paradise,
Set alight and burnt
By industrial machinery
Suffocating the air in smoke,
Searches with feeble hands
Of whatever rains
Lies beyond the smoke.
Fights on in the heat
Against encroaching deserts
With its diminishing greenery,
Fights on in the heat
Against harsh droughts
With its diminishing rivers,
Calls with a choked voice
Children purged on tree tops
In raging floods,
Cars and houses swept off their feet,
Seas rise with the rising sun
When winters are griped with summer claws,
Days gets warmer and warmer;
Animals poached and preyed upon
Are caged in metal bars
And fight extinction wars.
