“A Spoon of Tears”
I Sigh in Silence
Sweet tears of joy
or the salty ones of sorrow
dissolve aches of hearts,
cleanse even corrupted souls.
Feel no shame to shed tears.
It makes your heart lighter
Hesitate not to wipe-off others’ tears
It gives relief to both.
Fears and tears have an intimate rapport,
like eyes and hands, it seems.
One follows the other,
not at all a bohemian bond.
Hands when hurt, eyes well-up,
hands inevitably raise to wipe them off.
When one cries in pain,
I too feel the pain, my eyes become wet.
But being my companion in good and bad,
sad am I shedding tears just like that
and I sigh in silence, knowing fully well
they step straight into the heaven.
