Dear Subhasmita!
Let’s talks about your writing journey.

1- What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?
Ans-: I don’t have any specific schedule for writing. Does writing need any kind of schedule? In my point of view writing never need any kind of schedule because when my heart instructs me to write my pen bleeds those uncatchable feelings of my heart into few words in a poetic sequence. Whenever I feel gloomy and shadowy I used to use my pen in order to draft the brightest words from those despondents. My writing schedule comprises the inner voice of my heart.

2.What is the first book that made you cry?
Ans: I have read one of the best Odia book; named ‘JAGYASENI’ and after reading that I cried genuinely because I felt the lines of the book by my heart. I cried after reading the struggle of Jagyaseni and the abusement which was done by Kaurav against her. I considered that was the most precious book to our literature world.

3- Where does your inspiration come from? Do you come from a literary background?
Ans-: My mother tongue was my first inspiration for my writing journey and one of my subject teacher became the way to drag out the potential from my kid mind. His explanation quality descended me into the world of literature. Then each and every static object of nature became a way to unbox the potential from me. No I am not from a literacy background but my grandfather had interest in literature.

4- Does writing energize or exhaust you?
Ans-: Singularly I can say ‘writing’ is the address of my love. It never exhausted me but it had exhausted my agonies, tears and gloominess in some fraction of seconds. It establishes peace and harmony in my life. So I can proudly utter writing gives me energy and uplifts me perennially from every difficulties.

5- Age is not an impediment to creativity and those who have the ingenuity and imagination to fulfill their dreams, usually, march ahead. Do you believe it?
Ans-: Yes, I am a true believer of this content. Age is just a number and we can’t keep our age as a barrier in our path. We all have heard, ‘if there is a will there is a way’! So if you are determined to do something then you must can do that. Age is not an impediment to creativity nor a barrier for anything. If you want to do something then you can do. Age will just pop from above by seeing your glory.

6- Who are your favourite living writers?
Ans-: My favorite living writers are Mr. Suprajit Sahu, Miss Gangotri Swain, Mr. Manoj Panda, Mr.Shiv Sundar etc.

7-: Tell us about some of the books that you’ve enjoyed.
Ans-: I have read some books those have inspired me a lot. I have read one of the book of Pratibha Roy that was ‘Jagyaseni’ and proudly l can say that book was the most beautiful book I have ever read in Odia language. I have also read Wings of fire, The story of my life, The blue Umbrella etc. I generally loved to read poems, autobiographies and stories so l have read such kind of books. All the above books are so inspiring as well as so nice to read.

8- What things have you read that have especially helped your writing?
Ans-: I had read different poetries, stories of different writers. I used to read the synonyms of words in order to improve my vocabulary. I have a habit of reading magazines and from magazines I got new knowledge to improve my writing skill.

9- Do you have a mentor for writing, and if so, how did you get that mentor?

Ans-: Mr. Suprajit Sahu is one of my teacher who is not only my teacher but also my mentor in writing and he helped me a lot to improve myself. Fortunately I meet him when I was in standard sixth. Mrs, Urmila Sahoo and Mrs. Smrutirekha Das both are my English and Odia teachers respectively. They also have helped me to improve myself and they are also my mentors in writing.

And especially Mrs. Sumana Venkat, Mr.Srikumar Sahoo,Miss Kritika Gautam all are my mentors. I have meet them in social media.

10- What’s the hardest thing about writing for you?
Ans-: There is nothing like hard in writing but When intense grief anchors my heart and I gave myself false advises and fake promises then I fell to remember words and in that time I couldn’t gave a perfect shape to my feelings.

11- Do you feel like it was harder for you to get attention as a young author?
Ans-: I am a bloosom who is still blooming in her seventeenths. So yeah I have started my writing from standard sixth but unfortunately I don’t have any special recognition as a poet. In this sense I can say young writers are depriving from getting advises and to improve themselves. But fortunately SLF have done a great initiative to give recognition to each buds and I am happy with it. 🙂

12- What made you want to start writing, not just reading?

Ans-: Once I observed how I write answers in my notebook without memorising the lines of my textbook. Then I thought if I can make sentence by myself while writing answers then why I can’t write something by my own! A little interest bloomed in me and I became pen addicted.

13-What do your friends say about your writing habit?
Ans-: My friends are so happy and I think they are like my motivation. They are my readers, encouragers and so on… Some friends tell me to write a book and some suggests to start Novel writing. The supreme thing is that they respect my writing through me and me to my writing vice versa.

14-How do you balance writing and schoolwork and a social life?

Ans-: It’s a nice question. This life needs balance and only our work can bring the equilibrium. Usually l have classes and generally I am not getting time to write. Still if l feel like writing then I used to explore the deepness of my thoughts in those minutes. I live under a discipline life by accepting the given schedule from my school as well as from my family. So it’s not that much hard for me to do so.

15- Do you think people these days read enough?
Ans-: Literally I can’t draw out the answer properly because now a days all are busy in their work. So it’s been a kind of barrier to give time for reading. Reading can enhance your power but I think people are not getting sufficient time to read others.

16- What are your reading habits like, these days?
Ans-: My habits comprises of three vital factors. Those are reading, understanding and expressing.

17-: We know you love writing. What are your other interests?
Ans-: My hobbies are enabling me to feel the hidden authentic euphoria of this world. Hence my interest lies in singing, listening to music, travelling, reading autobiographies, stories, poetries, painting, reading news paper and learning different languages accordingly.

18- Why is reading vital for everyone to became a good writer ?
Ans-: Reading is the most relevant method which helps us to write. Without reading you can’t be able to write. Reading establishes the foundation for the creativity. Then only you can write. The more you read the greater you bright.

19- :What advice would you give to them who aspire to become writers?
Ans-: ‘Aspiration comes from interest and interest helps to write’! So it will be my personal advise to the beginners that “keep trying and always try to draft your random thoughts into words. Read other writers as much as you can and try to feel the content of your writing before scribing. Keep taking suggestions from your elders as well as other writers. Definitely you can be one of the finest writer in the future. Kick out your fear and let’s start to play with words. You will reach at your destination where you want to be.”

20) Why is poetry important?
Ans-: Poetry is the imitation of imitations according to Aristotle. Expression of feelings in the form of verses reflects the actual integrity and power of poetry. The poetic essence encourages us to depict the meaning by our own experience streak. We all know that literature is the mirror of society and Poetry is the most sweetest form to prove it. It offers those unnoticeable vulnerable picture of the society to the people. So I think poetry is important for expression as well as for implementation.
