1- What is your work schedule like when you’re writing?
Ans-: Writing is that charming adventure which takes the person beyond all barriers of restricted education into the world of creativity. Hence I feel I have no rights to restrict it in barriers of time. So I don’t have any fixed work schedule in particular and I get absorbed into writing whenever I have any leisure time after I do away with my hectic study schedule of boards and entrance.

2-What literary pilgrimages have you gone?
Ans-: I have participated at several forums like Storymirror, SLF Fortnightly Contest, Kabita Minar etc. and have gained a lot of knowledge from these pilgrimages.

3-What is the first book that made you cry?
Ans:-Life of Pi written by Yann Martel has a tragic ends how a long term friendship between an animal and a human vanished in a second when the tiger could not sense the feelings of Pi. That made literally cry.

4-What is the most unethical practice in the publishing industry?
Ans-: As per me the most unethical practice in the publishing industry is Plagiarism and piracy i.e. unauthorized reproduction of another person’s work.

5- Where does your inspiration come from? Do you come from a literary background?
Ans-: My inspiration is my first love, my Grandmother who unfurled before my eyes the vast multitude of beauty and colours that enrich the world making it a serene clam place. My younger brother is my inspiration too. When I write a poem, I read it to them and I don’t know how much they perceive it but tell that it is nice and that golden word steers my writing competency.
Yes my father was a poet during his college days. He was ranked among the top young poets in Odia language and his poem “Panthasaala” (Inn) had achieved great acclamation within and outside Odisha.

6- Does writing energize or exhaust you?
Ans-: Writing does something more that energizing. It flares my inner self, tranquilizes and shifts me from this diligent earth to the dimension of imagination and recreation, the orb of fancy and fantasy. 

7- Age is no impediment to creativity and those who have the ingenuity and imagination to fulfill their dreams, usually, march ahead. Do you believe it?
Ans-: “Age is no barrier. It’s a limitation you put on your mind.” At the age of 64, retired banker, Jay Kishore Pradhan cracked NEET. Alexander the Great created the largest empire in history at the age of 20. Both Mahamahim Bhishma and his great grandson Abhimanyu were the valiant heroes of the battle of Mahabharata. Hence age cannot restrict a person with a will to go forth and fulfill his desires.

8-Who are your favorite living writers?
Ans- Sir Amiya Bej is my most favourite living writer.

9-Tell us about some of the books that you have enjoyed?
Ans:- Some of the books I have enjoyed to heart are Challenges and Thrills of Pre College Mathematics written by V. Krishnamurthy, Life Of Pi, Katha Sarit Sagar(Ocean of Stories) by Somadeva, Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins, Word Power Made Easy by Norman Lewis, Manorama Yearbook and Tell Me Why collection, and Harry Potter Series written by J.K. Rowling.

10- What things have you read that have especially helped your writing?
Ans-: I am a great fan of Indian classical Epics like Mahabharata, Vishnu Puran, Ramayan and others and I imbibe ethics and understanding from them to be depicted in my writings. I learn the concept of Old sophisticated Victorian Romanticism from the poems of Laureate William Wordsworth like Daffodils and Solitary Reaper. I learn how to develop suspense in stories from Sir O Henry and Sir Manoj Das. I learn modern poetry form from poems of Sir Robert Frost like Birches and Stopping by the Woods on a Snowy Evening. I have read Shakespearean novels, Merchant of Venice and Tempest a transition between different generations of English. Sir Shaughnessy’s straightforward statement in We are the music Makers attracted me lot towards the beauty of masterpieces of artists. But my favourite poem is Desiderata by Sir Max Ehrmann.

11- Do you have a mentor for writing, and if so, how did you get that mentor?
Ans-: Yes my mentors and guides are esteemed Sudipta Ma’am and Manoj Sir. I got familarised with Manoj Sir from a contest where Sir taught me how I can make better choice of words through improved vocabulary. I got familarised with Sudipta Ma’am me from Congregation of poets by SLF where ma’am was the chief guest. She taught me how to implement metaphorical expression in my poem.

12- What’s the hardest thing about writing for you?
Ans-: The hardest thing for me while writing is pursuing the role of a pessimistic biased critic towards anybody else’s literature. I respect the hard work of every author from a kid to the greatest literary giants and I never like find faults in them.

13- Do you feel like it was harder for you to get attention as a young author?
Ans-: It would have been hard for me to get attention in the competitive world but thanks to my father who keeps backing me up to post my poems at different websites and contests. Then I would like to thank Saroj Sir for introducing me to Manoj Sir and SLF family and thereafter Manoj Sir opened vast scope and opportunities for me to bloom out and helped me to become familiar with other great writers like Monalisa Ma’am, Priyadarshini Ma’am, Srotasini Ma’am and finally to Sudipta Ma’am who took me to the deeper insights of poetry to improve my writing skills. Manoj Sir even made me converse his inspiration, Bharata Chandra Sir.

14- What made you want to start writing, not just reading?
Ans-: It was an incident of class tenth. As it happened, it was literally my first poem titled “71 Not Out” written in praise of my motherland. I submitted it to my seniors for hanging it on the school notice board. But the next I found it was not there. My eyes fell on a piece of white sheet in the drain. I apprehensively picked up the seven pieces and it was my ditty. I vowed that will I not stop writing till the day I deserve it. But I did not feel like writing anymore and focused on my boards forgetting about it completely. It was the end of class 11th when I tested my skill to write a poem on my grandmother titled “Altruistic Being” which was liked by many as it was published in school magazine. Then I never looked back.

15-What do your friends say about your writing habit?
Ans-: I don’t know whether they really do not understand my poem or play pranks with me, but all of them say that it is a good habit and poems sound nice. I should keep it up. They form a good workplace environment for me.

16-How do you balance writing and schoolwork and a social life?
Ans-: Schoolwork goes on and on and I cannot miss out on them at this critical time. Writing is a pleasure of leisure and I prefer to pursue it whenever I am without any task. It serves as a mental tonic for curing my headache and is no less than a stress buster for me. I am quite content with my social life.

17- Do you think people these days read enough?
Ans-: Exactly what Roald Dahl had mentioned in his poem, “Television”, the reading habit of our society is diminishing day by day with the advent of electronic media. Books have served the entire mankind for several millennium of years but neglecting those decreases the knowledge standards as well as patience to focus on a single topic.

18- What are your reading habits like, these days?
Ans-: My regular reading habits nowadays range from textbooks writen by L.G. Wade, Peter Stykes, Ashish Arora Sir, H.C. Verma Sir, J.D. Lee, S.L. Loney, Vinay Kumar, Mac Murry Fay and many others.

19-: We know you love writing. What are your other interests?
Ans-: Among my other interests are solving Rubik’s Cube, Day dreaming, Elocution, Designing PowerPoint Presentations, Playing Football, Cricket commentary etc.

20- Why is reading vital for everyone to became a good writer?
Ans-: Reading not only enhances vocabulary and teaches new things but it takes us into the mindset of author exposing us several kinds of thoughts from around the world. I am a Philomath and love learning every day. I appreciate all kinds of literature work.

21- What would you say is your interesting writing quirk?
Ans-: I take ideas from my day to day chronicles but produce my original pieces. To be honest I am a day dreamer who is attached more to his inner thoughts and conscience and I jot down whatever strikes me as new and interesting. I always keep in mind that I am a reader more than a writer and that my write ups should not only serve as a symbol of my feelings but also give a special message to others. I judge a reader’s psychology before beginning my poem.

22- What advice would you give to them who aspire to become writers?
Ans-: I would advise them to be dauntless and to write whatever comes to their mind at that instant without caring for mistakes. They should not expect prizes or success in contest. They should try to deserve it, success will automatically follow them.

23- Why is poetry important?
Ans-: Poetry is important because it evacuates human life from dismal darkness and gloom and fills colours of a new beginning for another gleeful journey. It gives immense pleasure and paradisiacal contentment. The elegance and grace of poetry is far deep than the word itself.
