Monsoonal Farming

Sarala Balachandran

***************************************

You can see the smile on the farmers

They have atlast got the much needed rain

Now its easy to plough the field

And sow the seeds and soon they will sprout and the fields will be full of

Greens

They wait for the harvest when all homes will be filled with grains and pulses

No more starvation they see in sight

As God has been kind enough to

Send timely rains

Children are happily playing in the slush

Mothers upset they may catch a cold

All drinking hot hot tea or coffee

Sitting inside the house with some hot pakodas to go with the tea

Children are enjoying they want nothing to eat but want to enjoy the rain.
