Bairns of Love
Don’t judge this winter wrong,
Her sadness lies in the absence of snow,
When whispers in the waves overturn,
And the stars sigh among the flowers.
There are snowdrops brought to tell us
The bairns of love underground,
To grow in the root of another life,
A rare beauty by word.
It’s a white tenderness on sunny days,
A sign of the fulfillment of a dream,
When the shadows look like shooting stars,
And the flakes do not arrive as promised.
Stretch out your hand beyond my mind,
To snow somewhere in one night,
Without knowing why or until when,
Snowdrops grow in unspoken whispers.
